Nell and “Terry La Gator”

Sometimes, on slow weekend afternoons when the kids are feeling particularly bored, we start up an impromptu game we’ve dubbed Surprise Drawing Challenge. We FaceTime someone we love—grandparent, uncle, unsuspecting friend—and immediately challenge them to a draw-off against the kids. Everyone gets the same silly prompt (think: a banana taking a nap or an alligator with a hat) and has exactly 90 seconds to draw their masterpiece. The competition is fierce, the artwork is endlessly weird and delightful, and we’re always laughing by the end. Highly recommend as a mood booster. -Courtney

7 things at least somewhat related to life with kids:

  • Ask: Forget Googling the many versions of "Is this normal?" late into the night. You can text real pediatricians with your full mental load of new parent queries!

  • Read: Celebrate the enduring and alluring, surreal and unsettling darkness of Edward Gorey, that still persists today.

Pigeon Said Please Matilda Vest
  • Shop: A zesty little vest for enhancing tiny outfits.

  • Read: Tips from

    Dr. Aliza Pressman
for encouraging adaptability and flexibility in our offspring when our standard "just be chill" isn't working.

  • Try: A hair mask! A mask for your hair. To make it softer and stronger. We can all use a little hair hydration.

Chloe Walsh’s Fluffy Pancakes
  • Make: Improve everyone's Sunday mornings with

    Chloe Walsh
’s peanut butter and caramelized banana pancakes.

  • Listen: Get a little sonic relief with an EP that magically transforms kid classics into songs you can genuinely enjoy.

Something we think everyone should experience at least once:

Niki de Saint Phalle She – A Cathedral, 1966

🌈 Fact check! Something a child told us this week: guinea pigs do not eat other guinea pigs (they are herbivores)
