I have 3 keychains, house, car and office. Whenever I’m looking for one of them, I can only unearth the other ones. To the point where I think it must not be there. Any bag. Doesn’t matter what bag, how big or small, or structured or cavernous.

I could attach them all together, but then I’d be a landlord like my dad. Too many keys on one chain feels stressful. Like then I’ll just struggle to locate it on the keychain which is somehow even more annoying.

There is a little purse elf that moves them around so I can’t ever reach it first thing. Odd are that would happen at least sometimes right? Going in there multiple times a day. But no, it never happens.

I eventually do locate them, because they are obviously there among the 5 other things in my bag. And I am grateful that they weren’t actually lost. Every day. Multiple times a day.

This is too much angst for keys I know. But it’s my angst and I can’t move past it.

I could be more organized and set them aside and hold them in preparation, but then I’m more likely to drop or lose them.

There is no way out for me. -Grace

8 things at least somewhat related to life with kids:

The Tales of Beatrix Potter in ballet form(!!!)
  • Watch: A little Easter viewing from the Royal Ballet.

  • Read: About the invisible labor of maintaining the wardrobes of children who continue to relentlessly grow out of their clothes at the speed of light.

  • Make: Passover ends tomorrow, and this matzo-fried chicken is just right for closing out the holiday.

Super Crystal Jelly Mule
  • Wear: Jelly mules. You heard us.

  • Listen: A series of essays that examine the particular skill it takes to write truly memorable stories for children.

  • Shop: Here are some very sweet little clips for your babe’s wispy soft hairs.

Oddly Specific Jellycats
  • Laugh: Does anyone know where to get the John Updike Jellycat?

  • Gift: David Mellor's very respectable table settings for kids in primary hues.

🌈 Fact check! Something a child told us this week: A Martian sunset is blue

Behind the paywall: low-effort Easter eggs, a hat suggestion, and spring manicure inspo. All cute, none demanding fine motor skills.
