We recently took a spring break trip, one of those carefully planned adventures with itineraries, reservations, and (probably too many) hopes for core memory building. And while we did do a ton and saw many epic things, the moment my 8-year-old keeps talking about? Playing soccer with a stray cat and a (stray?) balloon, passing it back and forth outside a café.
It’s always the little, unexpected things—the decidedly not flashy, in-between moments—that end up making the biggest impact in their minds. A reminder (to myself, mostly) that the real trick to traveling with kids is to leave room for savoring the perfect moments that no itinerary could never anticipate. -Court
6 things at least somewhat related to life with kids:
Walk: If you are or know a new/new-ish dad who wants to meet other dads, you can meet up in Brooklyn and push your strollers alongside one another 🥺
Try: And why shouldn't applying beauty products be a little more like drawing on your face with a marker?
Gift: File under: kids' toys that are good looking, fun and the right amount of weird.
Make: Doing ourselves a weekend breakfast solid by spicing up our usual pancake batter with orange and cardamom (side chat, cardamom: Great spice or the greatest spice?).

Wear: Sail away, sail away, sail away (and ABROF always be referencing Orinoco Flow).
Read: This book traces the history of the fight to normalize and legitimize women's experiences of postpartum depression.
Something we are:

🌈 Fact check! Something a child told us this week: Lady lobsters are called hens
Behind the paywall: We don't really miss the 90s. But maybe we do. It's so hard to tell these days.
